Springtime in FoCo(MX)

Time to catch up on all the exciting things that have been happening!
I’m flying high off another successful Songwriter Night performance earlier this week! If you have the opportunity to see in-the-round style songwriter nights, do it!! As someone who loves songcraft, this is one of my favorite ways to see a show. And to play them!

Lois and the Lantern was recently in the studio at SwingFingers recording, and we have some new songs tracked and in the mixing phase. We are aiming for a full-length LP, but may leak one or two of these out early because we are just so dang excited to share them. Working with Aaron Youngberg through the recording process was a dream, and we can’t wait to do more!

FoCoMX, folks!! Every April, Fort Collins turns into a musical haven (even more than usual) for our local music festival. This year, expect 400+ acts on 40+ stages over 2 wild days, April 24-25 in downtown Fort Collins. Lois and the Lantern will be playing, once again. Catch the band at 8:30 pm on Saturday night, 4/25 at the Lyric. Get you wristbands here https://focoma.org/focomx/tickets

I’ve got some exciting solo shows and band shows coming up. Please check the schedule for updates: some shows haven’t been announced yet!
Thanks for listening!

Summer Shows!

Summer shows are in full swing!

I’ll be playing a variety of solo shows and concerts with both bands. New dates are being added all the time, and I’ll try to keep things updated here.

Spring…almost

Warmer, longer days are right around the corner, and I’m dreaming of outdoor stages and festivals! I’ll keep adding dates the the Shows page on here as we confirm them.
Also, if you are in Northern Colorado, check out FoCoMX April 18-19. 400 bands and acts, all happening over 2 fabulous days in Old Town Fort Collins. Early bird tickets are available now. The official lineup will be released on 3/14 at Odel Brewing Co. https://focoma.org/focomx/tickets If you buy them before the announcement you can save some cash.
Yesterday was my birthday. This year for my birthday I signed up for a Writing Workshop with Angie Stevens, another amazing Colorado musician. https://www.letlovebethelight.com
She’s great; if you don’t know her, check her out and thank me later!

Inspiration…Move Me Brightly

There is a lot going on in the world right now. I could say more about that, but if you are here I think you know what I mean. I am looking deep into the music for hope, joy, and community. I have written a bunch of new songs already since I built this website, and while I am still learning to be a blogger (right here, in fact!) I have developed at least a few of them into songs I really like. More solo recordings are coming in the spring. I have new songs to take to Ruthless Ginsburg and Lois and the Lantern. I just recently saw the Bob Dylan biopic and read a couple books by musicians I admire. I can’t seem to get a good night’s sleep, but at least the Muse is persistent even if her timing isn’t great. Thankful to be in the current as opposed to watching the river flow by.

More songs!

More songs in two ways:

1)I added my other 2024 releases to the Downloads page, so you can listen to and/or buy all 8 of my most recent releases.
2) This week is the Fearless Songwriting Challenge. The challenge happens in a Facebook group, and is hosted by Timmy Riordan. Timmy provides a songwriting prompt each day for a week, and the participants are challenged to write a new song every day. I have dipped my toe in these waters in the past, but I’m really shooting for 7 songs this time, whatever that takes. The small group that participates is so supportive and inspiring; it is an honor to share in something so vulnerable with other creatives. On that note, I need to return to my guitar and my papers…

New Website

I’ve got a new website, and this is it. I’m so glad our paths have crossed.

In 2024 I released 8 new solo songs into the streamiverse. I am working on more in 2025. Stay tuned here for updates on songwriting and other musical endeavors. Thank you for joining me on this journey —T
